These waffles are a perfect match with Sarah's Slow Jam Strawberry and Raspberry Jams! This easy recipe works with both active and fed sourdough starter, giving them a rich depth of flavor and a light airy texture you'll crave again and again! Best enjoyed warm with a generous dollop of jam.

Ingredients
1 cup sourdough (active starter or discard)
1 cup milk
1 large egg
2 tablespoons sugar
1 cup AP flour
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
3 tablespoons melted butter or neutral oil
Non-stick cooking spray, such as Pam, for waffle iron
Directions
Add the sourdough starter/discard, milk, and egg to a medium mixing bowl. Mix thoroughly, using a whisk.
Add the sugar, flour, salt, and baking soda to the bowl. Use the whisk to mix it until it is well combined. Add the melted butter or oil to the batter and whisk it until it is smooth.
Spray your waffle iron with non-stick cooking spray (if necessary).
Add batter to waffle iron.
Let the waffles cook according to the directions on your waffle iron.
Carefully remove the waffles and enjoy with your favorite Sarah's Slow Jam! We recommend Strawberry Jam, Raspberry Jam or Mango Butter for a tropical twist to your wonder waffle breakfast!
